About Us

We’re twin sisters living on opposite sides of the country.  Katie lives in San Diego and Tracy lives in Wheeling, WV.  We both love cooking, eating good food, and have been gluten free since January 2011!

And we like chocolate ice cream.

We are 23 years old and have dealt with headaches and migraines for about the past 8 years.  We knew there had to be something triggering the migraines, but could never figure out what.  We spent many hours googling for possible reasons.  Finally in Dec 2010 Katie came across a website about how some migraine sufferers have gluten sensitivities. We decided we might as well give it a shot, and see if a gluten free diet changed anything.

To be honest, we thought this would be like any other diet we’ve tried (Tracy only managed to stay vegetarian for about 2 weeks..).   Our favorite foods previously were bagels, bread, and pasta, how could we possibly not eat these things ever again?  But 2 months later, our heads were feeling better than ever, we felt healthier, and we are loving trying new foods.

We created this blog to share our favorite GF recipes, review the GF products we try, document our journey in changing our lifestyles, and get support from other people with food sensitivities!

    Hi Tracy and Katie,

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! 🙂 I think it’s awesome that after giving up gluten you both started to feel much better. I know I definitely feel way better when I’m not eating gluten, dairy, shellfish and somethings that I am still in the process of figuring out what they are. In your comment you said that you were thinking of going dairy free – if you need some links to some really good gluten and dairy free blogs let me know and I can send them your way! 🙂

I’m looking forward to following along with your adventures!

    Take Care,

    Christine

  3. I think your “story” is so cute! And I’m glad you are sisters to help each other out with changing to GF. (Keep checking out my blog as I’m trying to help out with simple GF!) That’s cool that Tracy is from Wheeling, I have family that lives there, and my grandma lives in Weirton. I’ll enjoy your page!

Hi Ladies, love the blog so far. I started a blog in January called Salt-n-Stuff. Though mine is not entirely food, I do have a section entitled Kitch-n-Stuff that featured favorite recipes.(they are all gluten free) I was raised in a mostly Gluten Free home; my mother was diagnosed as celiac about 25 years ago, my brother about 15 years ago, and I have been G.F. myself for over 10 years now. My 6 year old son is also G.F.
I would love to have you check out my blog.
    Keep up the good work!
    Callie

Great blog – and cute story. I’ve been paleo for the past 2 weeks and I’m loving it too – haven’t seen any major improvements yet but I do notice I am much less hungry than I used to be, which is a major improvement. Looking forward to reading more!

    • Hi Hellopaleo!
We have definitely noticed that we are a lot less hungry too. I think we had some major metabolic issues going on before because we would get so hungry and feel like we had to eat every few hours. Now we can go 6 or 7 hours between meals just fine! We’ve also noticed less headaches, which going gluten free had helped, but eating paleo has eliminated even the minor headaches. Good luck on your paleo journey! Thanks for reading!
